Responsibility
- Work closely with Scrum teams to turn business needs into functioning software.
- Collaborate with a variety of teams for development and troubleshooting issues.
- Provide support to fellow developers.
- Manage the entire software development process, from building and deploying the app to ongoing maintenance after launch.
- Build secure and scalable APIs (application programming interfaces) to support business needs.
- Enjoy tackling interesting technical challenges alongside other engineers
- Ensure mobile services meet HSBC’s security and quality standards.
- Actively participate in the Mobile Engineering community to stay up-to-date and contribute to best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience building web APIs specifically designed for mobile applications.
- Experience with tools and processes for continuously releasing and updating mobile apps.
- Experience building software components that can grow and adapt to increasing demands (scalable).
- Knowledge of microservices architecture, where complex applications are built from smaller, independent services.
- Strong experience in server-side development using Java 8, Spring Boot, and cloud platforms like Pivotal Cloud Foundry and AWS.
- Experience with tools like MuleSoft API Gateway to manage APIs effectively.
- Familiarity with functional programming concepts and frameworks like RxJava that focus on code simplicity and maintainability.
- Experience using tools like Jenkins, Git, and Jira to automate building, testing, and deploying code.
- Exposure to tools like Splunk or AppDynamics for monitoring application performance.
- Knowledge of tools like Hystrix to make applications more resilient to failures.
- Working knowledge of Python is a plus.
- Experience with Kotlin, a popular language for Android development, is advantageous.
- Experience working effectively in Agile development teams.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong team player attitude.
