To help with our platforms and solutions designed for drivers, merchants, and consumers, we are seeking a full-stack engineer. There will be chances for you to work on important frontend stacks and several backend service clusters.
With millions of users every day across seven countries, these services are vital to Grab. Your proficiency with front-end and back-end technologies will be crucial to producing web apps of the highest caliber and advancing our projects’ success.
The Day-to-Day Activities
- Create and improve state-of-the-art services that set the bar high for Grab’s product line’s availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.
- Construct and implement efficient modern web applications
- Collaborate with the engineering group to investigate and develop novel designs or architectures that prioritize performance and scale.
- Take part in design and code reviews to uphold our strict development standards.
- Plan for service capacity and demand as well as the analysis, adjustment, and optimization of software performance.
- Work together to create and prototype feature specifications with the product and experience teams.
- Assist the infrastructure team in developing and expanding back-end services and doing root cause analysis research in close collaboration.
- Create, construct, evaluate, and correct flows for our webviews and admin-ops portal.
- Gain knowledge of optimizing and tweaking fullstack performance.
Qualifications
The Must-Haves
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related fields
- 2+ years of distributed systems software engineering experience
- Solid foundations in algorithms and data structures in computer science
- Large-scale web service operation experience; networking and system internals knowledge are required.
- Strong grasp of scaling and system performance
- Have a strong sense of communication, analytical aptitude, a track record of successful design work, and the capacity to critically assess the stability and growth of the current system.
- Strong GoLang and ReactJS development abilities.
- Strong comprehension of the operation of online applications, including alerting, monitoring, session management, security, and databases
- Problem-solving program from start to finish: FE components, database structure, and backend design
- Capable of troubleshooting, debugging, and fixing production problems
- Test software to make sure it is efficient and responsive.
Tech Stack
- Golang with Redis/Aerospike, MySQL, DynamoDB, and Elasticsearch data stores make up our core services tech stack. They’re all powered by auto-scaling AWS cloud architecture.
- We cover the following web app platforms: HTML5, CSS, Javascript, GraphQL, and ReactJS.
- Our code repository is hosted on GitLab, and we follow the fundamental principles of Continuous Delivery by employing a variety of tools to help our code quality and release process. Among these are DataDog, Kibana, and GitLab CI.
